On August 5, 2016 our world as we knew it was turned upside down when we discovered that our beautiful daughter had a tumor on her right kidney. Within days, our spunky 11 yr old girl underwent major surgery to have her tumor and kidney removed. Our three week stay throughout most of August in Maria Ferari Children’s hospital was only the beginning of the battle that was ahead for Emma and our family. Emma was officially diagnosed in late August with a rare soft tissue sarcoma. Her plan for treatment includes 7 cycles of strong chemotherapy and approximately 30 treatments of radiation to work towards healing her body from cancer. Prior to her cancer diagnosis, Emma is a child who already was living with Tourette Syndrome, a rare genetic neurological condition. In spite of all of her challenges in life thus far, Emma is a child who brings love and light to all who know her. We are proud to call her our daughter. Courage above all things is the first quality of a warrior. Our warrior princess is extremely strong and courageous! God has big plans for her in this life and there is no doubt in our hearts and minds that she is destined for greatness. We are humbled by the outpouring of love and support Emma and our entire family has received, from all walks of life, during this challenging time. We thank you so much. Your friendship, love, and support is truly a blessing to our family.
